We have the pleasure to invite you to a trip to Greenland.
We have three fantastic rivers to choose from. All have crystal clear water and lots of fish.
All rivers are very well fitted for both fly- and spin fishing.
Flyfishing rods weight 5-6# and light spin 2-15gr. 7-9` rods is perfect. Overall weight in 2004 was 0,8kg in Amitsuarassuq and Qorqut, and in i Kangia it was ca. 2,0kg.
The biggest fish taken in Kangia 2004 was over 5kg.
The fishing season starts ca.15 July and to the end of August, ca.6 weeks.
The water temerature was last year between 10 and 12 degrees C.
The nature that sorrounds this rivers are deep valleys and steep high mountains.
Air temperature is normally between 15-20 degrees C. daytime. It can reach 0 degrees C nighttime.
We camp in a newly buildt cabin with rooms for two persons. The cabin has toilet and washing room.
Trips on daytime to Amitsuarssuq og Qorqut. The terrain is easy to walk with good tracks.
If you want flyfishing, you can use dryflies like Streaking Caddis, boobies and Riffling Hitch. You may also want some
heavy weighted nymphs with extra fast sinking leaders. The big chars have a tendensy to stay deep in the water, and you need to get down fast.
The colors we use is fluo orange-pink, brown and green-black.
Hooks size from 6 to 12, gold-head is popular.
Only barbless hooks ia allowed, also for spinners. Single hook. No trebbels please.
If you want to use lures and spinners, the colours copper, red, orange and green is fine. Herring-like 7g and 10g lures works well. Spinners up to 18g. Same colors.
If you want additional information we will gladly help you.
We just have to inform you; The season 2006 was the best ever. Very few fish under 2 kg, and biggest fish 5,3 kg. Some fishes did snap the 0,33 tippet, and we could only guess the weight.
THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE.......
